• 2026 League Affiliation Now Open

Affiliation for the SSSCCRRL season is now officially open.

As always, the league is built around one simple idea: make road racing more accessible, less intimidating, and better value, while still delivering a proper racing experience week in, week out.

Whether you’re new to racing, returning after time away, or just looking for a more welcoming environment, SSSCCRRL is designed to be a genuine entry point into the sport.

    What your affiliation supports

    Affordable racing

We keep costs as low as realistically possible. Affiliated riders can access racing from £18.50 for Open riders and £10 for women, helping remove one of the biggest barriers to getting on the start line.

    Inclusive, confidence-building racing

Our handicap format creates competitive “races within races”, reducing the fear of being dropped and giving every rider something to aim for.

    Support for new riders

We actively welcome first-time racers and those stepping up into road racing, with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere that makes it easier to get involved.

    Commitment to women’s racing

We continue to prioritise women’s participation, with dedicated pricing and a supportive environment that encourages riders to return week after week.

    Masters-focused racing

We recognise the importance of masters riders within the league and aim to create competitive, enjoyable racing that suits a wide range of experience and ability.

    JTP Coaching–sponsored HUUB race categories

These create clear “races within races” across the field, helping keep riders engaged and motivated throughout the event.

    Bringing road racing to life

We’re continuing to lead on media and coverage across the league. The aim is simple: give riders something to be proud of and help showcase the reality of grassroots road racing.

You might not always see yourself crossing the line at a National-level event, but you will see the finish of a Thursday night in the West Midlands — and that matters just as much. Through photos, video and regular storytelling, we want every rider to feel part of something and have moments they can look back on and share.

    Provisional Calendar

As ever with road racing, dates are provisional at this stage — the usual gremlins can still appear — but this is how the season is currently shaping up:

    • 21 May – Charlton
    • 28 May – Shipton
    • 4 June – Leighton
    • 11 June – Pattingham
    • 18 June – Bobbington
    • 9 July – Charlton

We’ll confirm details as soon as everything is fully locked in.

    Full & Half Squirrel

We’ve kept things simple again this year:

    Full Squirrel (don’t ask)

    • Best value for regular racers
    • Open riders: £111 for all 6 rounds
    • Women: £60 for the full series

    Half Squirrel (also don’t ask)

    • Flexible option
    • Open riders: £10 affiliation + £20 per race
    • Women: £10 affiliation + £10 per race

Both options help us plan and deliver a consistent, well-supported league while keeping racing affordable for everyone.

SSSCCRRL remains focused on delivering proper grassroots road racing in a barrier-free environment — welcoming, competitive, and built for the community that supports it.
